Blue Shimmer Lace Scarf, Free Crochet Pattern and Video Tutorial

Like many of us, I can't go out for yarn shopping, so I've been digging through my stash, trying to find something exciting to work with. I found four skeins of Brilliant yarn by Patons.

I purchased this yarn last year from a thrift store. I believe now this yarn is discontinued, which is a pity as it's beautiful and I enjoying working with it!

I made myself a pretty scarf. Nothing fancy, just one repeating row of crochet shells.

Because I only had four skeins (664 yards in total), my scarf came out only 46 inches long (13 inches wide), but I use a pearl pin to style it with, and it looks very pretty.

The pattern is very easy. We start with a chain that is a multiple of 7, plus 4.

For my scarf I started with chain 60.

Row 1: (3 dc, ch 3, 4 dc) all into 4th ch from the hook (beginning shell made), *skip 6 ch, (4 dc, ch 3, 4 dc) all in next ch (shell made)* across.

Continue working into the other side of the original chain. *(4 dc, ch 3, 4 dc) all in ch where shell was made* across. Join with sl st to top of starting ch.

From this point, continue working in rows.

Row 2: sl st to ch-3 space of 1st shell, ch 3, (3 dc, ch 3, 4 dc) all in same ch-3 space, *(4 dc, ch 3, 4 dc) all in ch-3 space of next shell* across.

Repeat Row 2 for the pattern. Fasten off.

Lacy Shells Easy Scarf, New Pattern and Crochet Video Tutorial

Crochet lacy scarves are so much fun to make! They are easy and quick projects that can make beautiful and inexpensive gifts.

For this scarf I used two skeins of Caron Simply Soft yarn and a hook size G (4.25 mm).

There are only two repeating rows in the pattern, which are easy to remember. You can work on this project while watching your favorite TV show or listening to a podcast (that's my favorite thing to do while crocheting).

Simple Lace Crochet Scarf, New Crochet Pattern and Video Tutorial

Soft Yarn by Red Heart is one of my favorite to work with. I especially like it in lilac color.

I used two skeins of Soft Yarn (256 yards each) to crochet a simple lace scarf. There are only two repeating rows in the pattern, and they are very easy to remember.

No complicated crochet stitches involved - only chains, single and double crochets.

This scarf is a perfect project for beginner crocheters.

I worked with a hook size H (5 mm). My scarf came out 75 inches long and 9.5 inches wide.

Honeycomb Square Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern

I recently made a rectangular, worked-in-row baby blanket using this beautiful stitch that combines puff stitches and shells. I also designed a matching baby hat in three sizes using this same stitch.

And now I went a step farther and designed a square, worked-in-round baby blanket in the same stitch. I love how it turned out!

I used one skein of Pound of Love by Lion Brand (about 1000 yards) and a hook size H (5 mm). My blanket came out about 30 by 30 inches. Of course, it can be made larger, you will simply continue crocheting until you reach your desired length.
