Big Lace Shells Crochet Shawl

My mom wanted to make a shawl and I suggested this pattern.

She loved it! She enjoyed working those big textured shells and finished her shawl within a week.

It turned out beautifully! It is chunky and warm, but at the same times looks lacy and soft.

My mom used two skeins of Impeccable Big yarn by Loops & Threads and a size H/8 (5 mm) hook.

The pattern is available on Etsy, Craftsy, and Ravelry

Spring Blooms Doily, Free Crochet Pattern

My children and I are recovering from another respiratory infection. Even though here in Northern California winters are mild, there are still lots of infections going around during the winter time.

I'm really ready for spring! You can clearly see that in my crochet creations.

Here is another spring doily. I couldn't decide what the flowers in my doily look like - crocuses, tulips? No, not exactly. Just some spring flowers! So I named this pattern Spring Blooms.

I hope you'll enjoy this pattern!

Stay healthy and warm wherever you are!

This pattern is my original design and it cannot be distributed in any form. You are welcome to make items for sale or personal use from this pattern.

Before your begin working on this pattern, please note that your doily in progress will bowl/cup up a lot. And I mean A LOT!

When I was working on this design, I reworked it many, many times to get a perfectly flat doily, but I couldn't. I just couldn't achieve it! I almost gave up, but decided to finish and block it anyway. And blocking made a huge difference. And I mean HUGE!

Just keep that in mind! :)

Aunt Lydia's Thread Size 3 Small Doily, Free Crochet Pattern by Olga Poltava

Today I have a new doily pattern to share!

This is a doily that would be very suitable for beginners. First of all, it's a very simple design and there are only 14 rounds in the pattern.

It is made with a bigger size hook (D/3, 3.25 mm) and crochet cotton thread size 3, which should be more comfortable to work with for beginners (rather than the traditional thread size 10).

I love the way my doily turned out. Simple, but lovely.

It fits my fruit basket perfectly!

Pineapple Bouquet Doily, New Crochet Pattern

The year 2018 is going to be a year of doilies for me! I am so hooked on making doilies! I've made a resolution to make 100 of them!

And not only I'm making them, I'm designing them myself. This is my most recent design.

There are million of pineapple doilies out there. Does the world really need yet another one?

I think it does!

I named my doily Pineapple Bouquet!

It measures about 17 inches across after blocking. I used aunt Lydia's crochet cotton thread size ten and a steel hook 1.5 mm.

The pattern is available in my shops.

I also want to share two pictures of doilies made from my most recents patterns. They were made by Mary and Sarah from the Thread n' Doily group on Facebook.

If you like crocheting with thread, sharing your projects, getting inspired by seeing the work of other crochet thread enthusiasts, that's definitely the place to be. It's such a friendly, warm, and supportive community.

It gave me so much joy seeing the doilies made from my patterns!

I was inspired to make these two small doilies in spring colors, and I'd like to share my free pattern!
