Dreaming of Spring Doilies, New Crochet Pattern

The holidays are now behind and I already dream of spring - warmer and longer days, delicate flowers, lush green trees, and tea in the garden.

I was inspired to make these two small doilies in spring colors, and I'd like to share my free pattern!

My video tutorial is available on YouTube:

  8. Thanks for sharing the pattern. I'm new at crocheting and i'm having fun crocheting this. Could you please help as i'm stuck at then 12th round. After the "dc in the next 4dc, ch3,skip next dc" I don't understand where to "ch-1 and dc. My doily my not be 9" wide across, did i do anything wrongly?
I also noticed that my doily is caving in slightly like a hat, any reason for this

    1. Hi, sure, I'll try to help!
In Round 12, you don't make ch-1 and dc, you are skipping them. The pattern should be read like this: "skip next dc, skip next ch-1, and skip next dc". Does it make sense? Let me know.

  13. Really love this pattern, I think there's a mistake in the written version for round 14 though?

It says: sl st in next dc, ch 5 (counts as 1st dc and ch 2), 2 dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 2,

    - after the ch5 & before the 2 dc in next 3 it doesn't say skip the next dc when in the video that's what you do.

  15. Pattern is lovely. I've just finished my third one. What thread you use please? I have made the three from 50gr ball of thread but your pattern says 100gr. Something not right?

    1. Hi Isabel, I used Aunt Lydia's thread size 10. I gave the amount of yarn needed in yards.
I'm glad to hear you've made three doilies from this pattern!

  17. I chanced across this pattern on ravelry and immediately thought what a great round afghan it would make. I can no longer use thin yarn and tiny hooks due to my aging hands and eyesight, but I can still crochet up a storm with worsted weight! Thanks for the lovely pattern!
