Crochet Lacy Motif for a Tablecloth, Table Runner, Bedspread, Summer Blouse, etc. Crochet Pattern and Video Tutorial

Summer is here, and I couldn't be happier!

I always say summer is the best season of the year, and childhood is the best season of life!

My boys are almost done with school, and we are looking forward to fully enjoying each and every summer day!

My favorite things about summer are picnics and trips to the beach, wild flowers, summer dresses and hats, morning coffee on the balcony, fresh produce from my mom's garden and fresh honey from my dad's bees...

And, of course, crocheting!

Crocheting on the beach, crocheting at the park, crocheting on the balcony, crocheting at a coffee shop...

My choice of yarn for summer crochet is cotton! I love crocheting both with soft cotton and with mercerized cotton.

Here is a small decorative piece that I made with a bit of leftover YarnArt Begonia yarn.

Each motif has only three rounds. Very easy! The motifs are joined in the last round, and I also added a basic border of chain loops and single crochets.

This is not a complex project, but look how cheerful and uplifting the finished result is.

Just a bit of leftover yarn, a crochet hook, and some imagination and voila - a small decor piece to bring even more color and happiness to my summer!

Blocking it made a big difference! People often ask me how I block my pieces. All I do is soaking it in water, squeezing it out, laying it flat on a towel and stretching and shaping my piece. Then just leaving it to dry!

What are your favorite things about summer? What kind of crochet projects you do?

If you are interested in trying this simple motif, you can follow my tutorial on Youtube

If you prefer to have the pattern in written form, you can find it in my Etsy and Ravelry shops!

Happy crocheting and happy summer!
