Thank you for your sweet comments about my doily. I made another one in ecru color to test the pattern.
So here is the second part of the pattern.

I love the color os this one, it is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering, approx how long does this take to make? I'm looking for a nice sm-med size to make as gifts for next Christmas.. any suggestions there are so many dollies out there with only chart patterns. Thks a million!!
ReplyDeleteThis was the second doily I made from the same pattern (I first designed the pattern, then made the second doily to test it), so because I already knew the pattern I made it pretty quickly (in a couple of days). But when a pattern is completely new, it takes longer of course. So I'd say a week probably if you crochet 1-2 hours a day.
DeleteHappy New Year!
Thank you for sharing it. Can't wait to start it. I have done a swirl doily and a pineapple doily as separate doilies, but never combined them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pattern, I almost finished it and it's really nice! I think I found an error in row 30 though. In the first half, you say "{ch 5, dc3-tog over next 3 dc, ch 5, dc4-tog over next 4 dc, ch 5, dc3-tog over next 3 dc} twice", but I think the first "ch 5" shouldn't be there. It doesn't match the 2nd half of the row's instructions.
ReplyDeleteYes, you are absolutely right! That ch 5 doesn't belong there! Thank you for letting me know, I'll fix it in the pattern.
DeleteThanks again and happy crocheting!
Oh, I think there's still one last error in that row! If I'm reading correctly, it's written to make a ch 5 on one side of the two shells, but only a ch 3 on the other side. I'm pretty sure it should be symmetrical.
DeleteHi Francis,
DeleteI'm sorry for the delay in my reply. I was away visiting my parents and they don't have internet. Anyway, I'm back!
You are amazing! Yes, you are correct! Another mistake on my part! Thank you so much for spotting it and letting me know. I fixed it now!
How did your doily turn out? I would love to see a picture if possible. Also, I can't find a way to contact you privately. Are you on Ravelry? I was wondering if you'd like to try any of my paid doily patterns (for free of course).
A huge thanks again, and happy crocheting :)
Dear Mam,the doily is getting folded up like a cup in the center . What should I do?
ReplyDeleteHello, you can send me a close up picture of your work. I can't really say what is wrong without seeing your work, but a picture would help. You can find my email address in my profile.
Deletebeautiful pattern -- did you know that if you use a larger hook and fingering yarn it makes an amazing christening blanket!!
ReplyDeleteHi. This is a beautiful doily. Unfortunately it bulges in the middle. I don't have that problem on any of the other doily patterns I've made. I would advise using a smaller hook size for the first 5 or 6 rounds, then going up half a size.
