Lacy Diamonds Square Baby Blanket, Video Tutorial and Written Pattern, Feels Like Butta Lion Brand Yarns

Connecting with other people who practice and/or appreciate this wonderful art of crochet is one of my greatest joys! Going through the social distancing and isolation over the past year and a half was not easy, but through crochet I stayed connected to so many other people around the world! 

I am so blessed to a be a part of this amazing online community of crocheters!  

A couple of weeks ago, a fellow crocheter Juanita sent me not one, not two, not three... but six, six boxes of yarn! 

It felt like Christmas! I got so excited! The majority of the yarns that I received are new to me, and it's always fun to try next textures and new looks! 

One of these new-to-me yarns was Feels Like Butta by Lion Brand Yarns, and I used it to make this baby blanket! 

This is a category 4 yarn, 100% polyester, and it feels so soft to touch! I used four skeins in lavender color, and I worked with a hook size H (5 mm). 

The finished measurements of the blanket is about 34 by 34 inches. 

I will be sending this lovely blanket back to Juanita because she and her family are expecting a great grand baby! 

I will be crocheting more of baby items from the Feels Like Butta yarn! I still have several skeins in different colors!

Lacy Butterflies Crochet Scarf, Video Tutorial and Crochet Pattern

I can't believe it's already spring! Warm days, blue sky, flowers and butterflies! What can be more cheerful?

Inspired by spring, I crocheted a light cotton scarf with butterflies! If you follow my blog for a while, you might remember the butterfly bookmark I made years ago. I used the same pattern, but adjusted it for a scarf!

To make the scarf, I used seven skeins of Patons Grace by Yarnspiration (950 yards or 350 grams), which is 100% mercerized cotton. Buy this yarn on Amazon (affiliate link)! 

Alize Bahar 100% mercerized cotton will work for this project too (4 skeins will be needed). Buy it on Amazon (affiliate link)!

I worked with a hook size D (3.25 mm). 

The finished measurements of the scarf are about 63 inches long and 12 inches wide.

Mohair and Silk Lacy Scarf, Big Treble Shells, Crochet Video Tutorial and Pattern

Hello fellow crocheters and blogging friends,

This is my latest scarf, made of kid mohair and silk blend yarn. I had two balls in my stash (460 yards or 50 grams), which I finally used up!

Working with mohair yarn has its challenges, so I chose a very simple pattern of big shells made with treble crochets. There is only one repeating row in the pattern. 

I worked with a hook size H (5 mm), and the finished measurements of my scarf are about 64 inches long and 14 inches wide.

My Tree of Life Afghan, Crochet Pattern from Lion Brand Yarn

Hello blog friends, 

I am excited to share with you the project I recently finished! It's the Tree of Life Afghan from the Lion Brand Yarn website! 

I am really into trees! Somehow trees make me very happy! 

This afghan had been on my mind for a long time! You too probably have seen it online! So many people have made it! And now I join the ranks!

I did it! I crocheted myself a Tree of Life Afghan!

 I didn't use the recommended Lion Brand yarn, but instead I used what I already had in my stash - Impeccable by Loops & Threads.  My afghan took about 3500 yards of yarn, which is about 13 balls of 4.5 oz each.

I made my afghan a bit longer than the one in the pattern (I simply added more rows of flowers in the middle panel). I worked with a hook size H (5 mm). 

 

I absolutely love the way my afghan turned out! This was a long process, which took over half a year! 

I started this project in summer of 2020 and finished it in January 2021!
