Crochet Flower Tutorial

This pattern should work for any kind of yarn. Try hooks of different sizes to find the right one.

crochet flower tutorial

Start with chain 53.

how to crochet a flower

Double crochet in third chain from the hook. Double crochet in every following chain. Turn.

Single crochet in next space. Double crochet 5 in next space. Single crochet in next space. Double crochet 5 in next space. Repeat until the end of row.

Finish off but leave a yarn tail long enough to sew the flower together. Wave in the short yarn tail on the other end of the work.

Use a tapestry needle. Little by little, roll the flower and stitch together.

  16. What is the best way to finish off the braid and do you have instructions for the tapestry needle part? I could use a bit more info on that part. Thanks.

    1. Hi Courtney, you might want to check out the video below. It's not the same flower, but it's the same technique for finishing it. The lady in the video rolled the flower first, then stitched it together. I usually make the needle stitching as I roll the flower.
      Hope it can help.

  22. I think I'm going to try this with Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle yarn. They have something similar, but this looks a little better to make a pretty scrubby with.
