Open Lacy Stitch Tutorial

This crochet stitch is simple to crochet and the pattern is easy to remember as only two rows are repeated.

Multiple of 6, plus 5 (to make the sample shown in the pictures I started with ch 41).

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 5, skip 2 ch, sc in next ch* across.

Row 2: ch 3, turn; 4 dc in next ch-5 loop, *ch 3, sc in next ch-5 loop, ch 3, 4 dc in next ch-5 loop* across, dc in last sc.

Row 3: ch 1, turn; sc in same beginning space, *ch 5, sc in next ch-3 space* across, end with ch 5, sc in last dc.

Repeat Rows 2-3.

That's it there is to it!

    1. Hi Oliva,
Yes, I think this stitch would make a lovely lacy blanket, especially if made in white it would be a beautiful christening shawl.
