Crochet Women's Beanie Hat to Match the Cardigan, Free Crochet Video Tutorial

I really liked working with this stitch when I made my cocoon cardigan

So I didn't stop there, and made a matching hat too!

I used the same yarn - Impeccable by Loops & Threads, and the same size hook - H (5 mm).

Only about 150 yards of yarn are needed to make this hat!

I filmed a detailed video tutorial on how to make this hat!

And the written pattern is available in my Etsy and Ravelry shops.

Textured Slouchy Hat Crochet Pattern

Here is another hat that I recently made for myself. Its textured design looks complicated and intricate, and even lacy (just the way I like it!)

The pattern comes in one size - adult. But it will be suitable for a teen girl too. The hat is soft and stretchy. The finished measurements are about 18 inches in circumference (plus stretch) and 11.5 inches in height.

I used light worsted weight (category 3, DK) yarn and a hook size G/6 (4.25 mm). The specific yarn that I used is Snuggly Wuggly by Loops & Threads, 100% acrylic. Other light worsted or even worsted weight yarns can be used too, but pay attention to the gauge.

The skill level is intermediate; in addition to the basic stitch, front post double crochets are used in this pattern. The hat is made from top down.

The pattern is amiable in my shops on Etsy, Craftsy, and Ravelry

Shells and Roses Cloche Hat

I guess I now entered a summer hat making phase! Or should I say summer hat making frenzy?

With so many flowers blooming around here in California, I have tons of ideas. And I have tons of crochet thread too!

For this hat, just like for the previous one, I used Handicrafter by Bernat. This 100% acrylic thread is perfect for summer crochet projects. The finished items have a light and stretchy texture.

I have a lot of Handicrfater thread in my stash, so there will be more crochet hats coming.

This pattern is available in my Etsy and Craftsy shops.

Simple Mesh and Irish Rose Crochet Hats for Little Girls

Here in California summer is just around the corner! The weather is warm and sunny, and roses begin to bloom.

And here are Irish roses "blooming" on girls hats!

The hat itself is very simple. It's made in a basic crochet mesh technique. It is decorated with a rose and two leaves, which are made in the Irish crochet technique. Nothing new really.

And yet I fell like I've created something quite precious and unique. That's the beauty of the crochet art. There are endless ways to create new and exciting things using the old and time-tried techniques.

The hat is made using a steel hook size 1.75 mm and 100% acrylic crochet thread size 5 (I used Handicrafter by Bernat). Cotton crochet thread would work too, though acrylic would give you a softer texture.

The pattern is available in two sizes: 1-2 years old and 3-5 years old.

The pattern is very detailed and easy to follow. It's available in my Etsy and Craftsy Shops.

Toddler Cloche Summer Hat

Two of the most popular patterns in my Etsy shop are the patterns for the cloche summer hats shown below. These two hats are size 3-5 years old.

A lot of people have written to me asking about a similar hat pattern but for a smaller size. And finally here it is!

I made it with the same yarn (Grace by Patons) in my favorite color combination - light green and pink. The finished hat measures about 18.5 inches in circumference and 7 inches in hight (including the brim), and should fit a girl 1-2 years old.

The pattern is very detailed. It includes the pattern for the flower and the instructions on how to shape and starch the hat.

Cloche Style Crochet Summer Hats

This week I planned to show you my new skirt that I recently finished, but I haven’t had a chance to wear it and take photographs yet. So it will have to wait.

Instead I’m going to show you another couple of projects that I recently completed.

These summers hats are made of 100% mercerized cotton. I used Grace by Patons. Exactly one skein (136 yards) is needed for one hat, plus some extra for the decorations.

The hats measure about 20 inches in circumference and 7 inches in height. They should fit a girl 3-5 years old.

The pattern for the red hat (it’s actually hot pink, but somehow in the photos it looks as red) is available in my Etsy and Craftsy shops. The pattern for the blue hat will be coming soon.
